Data centers generate minimal daily traffic compared to other industrial uses, mainly limited to employees and maintenance personnel. Construction phases may temporarily increase traffic, but operational impacts are low.  As compared to an industrial warehouse or residential use, there is significantly less impact on the local roads and traffic patterns in operation.

For example, based on 1,000,000 SF of data center or warehouse use on 100 acres, which could equate to 500 single family homes for low-denisty residential (5 units/acre):

Residential creates 7x greater traffic, and Warehousing creates 2.5 greater traffic in the PM peak hour than a Data Center.

Development Suggestion: Construction traffic (higher volumes) should be carefully studied and mitigated with roadway improvements prior to the start of construction.Â
